Parks
Underwood offers two park areas for the community's enjoyment. Poolside Park, located west of the Underwood School, has an outdoor pool open in the summers, tennis courts, sand volleyball pits, horseshoe pits, basketball hoops, playground, an ice skating rink open in the winters with a warming house, and public restrooms. Pioneer Park, located on the north side of town, is nestled amongst towering spruces and hardwoods and offers a perfect place for picnicking with several tables and a playground. Both parks are operated and maintained by the Underwood Park Board, which uses the revenue from a mill levy and a portion of the City's Sales and Use Tax for upkeep and improvements.

Facilities
Underwood City Hall doubles as the community gym, where adult and youth basketball leagues practice and compete. The gym also is the destination point for young dancers who want to perform with the Underwood Just For Kix Dance Teams and for young martial artists who learn to turn, kick, and jab their way through the many levels of Tae Kwon Do.

Golfing
The Westridge Golf Course is one of many courses along the Highway 83 corridor between Bismarck and Minot. Located on the western edge of Underwood, the Westridge Golf Course is the result of a unique joint effort between the City of Underwood and Falkirk Mining Company. Built in 1989 on reclaimed land, the Westridge Golf Course features a beautiful treed course surrounded by golden prairie with nine greens, 18 tees, three water hazards and 25 sand traps. Open six months a year, the Westridge Golf Course also offers a clubhouse with dining facilities. The City has also completed the infrastructure for a new Westridge residential development that will provide spectacular views of the golf course and the surrounding natural prairie. Fitness
Pilates and yoga classes are currently offered twice a week by a local entrepreneur. Commercial property is available in the downtown area for lease by any qualified entrepreneur interested in opening a fitness studio for use by the community members, an interest that ranked high on a survey of the community completed in Spring 2008. Special incentives may be available.

Crafts
There are a number of community-wide crafting guilds in Underwood, including the Quilters and the Porcelain Painters. Scrapbooking is also a popular activity for all ages. Information on these and other social and crafting opportunities can be obtained at the Underwood Public Library.
